GATHER -   It was a beautiful afternoon when we met for our weekly meeting.  Our chorus leader Dale Drew was not in attendance and although his “not-so able-bodied” substitute started America the Beautiful in a somewhat higher key than usual, we managed to squeak through.  We pledged and a thoughtful prayer was given by Shane Cotner.

GUESTS -    Sabine Forest was our only guest

ANNOUNCEMENTS -  May 18th (this Saturday)is our annual spring cleanup at Mercy Place.  June 27th is the induction of our new president, Nancy Sielaff.

The FINE BOX and 50/50 drawing:

Sargent of Arms Nancy Sielaff collected donations for various reasons and causes.

The 50-50 Drawing did not produce a winner, so we live to gamble again next week.

SPEAKER -   Our speaker today was Julie Ritten from Ritten Financial.

Julie is an independent broker who offers many different types of insurance planning.  She spoke today about a new way to guarantee an inheritance for your children or heirs.  The concept is that children, can take out an insurance policy on their parents.  If the parents can qualify for a Standard or better health classification, life insurance can be a great way for parents to leave something for their children.  If your parents are under the age of 75 and have a normal life expectancy (and no major health issues), in most cases it’s a very efficient way for parents to leave a legacy.

Thank you Julie for visiting our club and leaving us with some new information.

Respectfully,

Laura Malczewski, scribe
