On June 12th , the BEL Rotary Club put on a “Bikers Breakfast” in conjunction with the inaugural Bobcaygeon Bikefest.  The Country Breakfast was held at the parking lot adjacent to the Lakefield Village Inn. The event was exciting for motor bikers as well as all others.  After the breakfast, Brad Filman, president of BEL Rotary, lead a parade of riders through Lakefield, Buckhorn and up to Bobcaygeon to take part in Bikefest Bobcaygeon.

The club is grateful for the support of Lakefield Inn, Chemong Lodge, Stuff, Fleming College Culinary Program and the Lakefield Village Bakery.

Hi I’m Jeanette Heffernan; I have been chosen to represent BEL Rotary. I’m 15 years, and a grade 10 student at St. Peters Secondary School. I play hockey, rugby, and row. I live on a sheep farm with my 2 brothers and 1 sister and my dad is an electrician. I’m really excited to be an exchange student. I want to have a better understanding of the different cultures, and gain more confidence when talking in front of groups. I would like to thank BEL Rotary for choosing me as a representative of their club.

As part of the planning committee the club recognizes the value of the trail in providing local residents and visitors to the area with a safe way to enjoy the beautiful countryside either on foot or by bicycle.
