Posted by Bert Godin on May 03, 2012 My dear brothers and sisters in Rotary! When we talk about building membership, we all recognize that welcoming a new member into a Rotary club is only the beginning of our task. To turn a new club member into a committed Rotarian, much more is necessary – and the first step is helping that new member to get involved. Every Rotarian in every club should know that he or she is not only needed but relied upon. Every Rotarian should have a job within the club – a role to play. After all, why are we in Rotary? We are here to make a difference. Yes, we enjoy our Rotary service, but that is not enough if we are to make Rotary a priority week after week, year after year. The knowledge that we are having an impact, that we are changing lives – that is what keeps us going, no matter what other demands may compete for our time. And this is why each one of us, however long we have been in Rotary, must always be striving to grow as Rotarians – to find new ways to help others, and to bring about all the positive change we possibly can. For this, more than anything, is what makes our Rotary service worthwhile.

Posted by Glen Agar on Jan 20, 2011 It is with great pleasure that I am informing all District 7010 Rotarians that PDG Bryn Styles of the Barrie-Huronia Rotary Club was unanimously selected last November by the Zone 24 Nominating Committee as Director-Nominee for our Zone. Since then there have been no qualified challenges in the challenge period. I have just been informed by Trustee Services at RI that Bryn will be the Zone’s official nominee and that he will be officially elected at the RI Convention in New Orleans in May 2011.

Posted by Glen Agar There is a really great way to learn and share Rotary Information! Rotary International launched its own YouTube channel a year ago with two goals in mind: offering Rotary video content to viewers who may not be familiar with the organization, and providing free video content to Rotary club webmasters. The YouTube channel supplements video on Rotary's Web site by providing Rotarians the means of embedding video onto their own sites. (See Did You Know? to learn how.) Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Interactors are encouraged to select from a growing collection of pieces from RVM: The Rotarian Video Magazine and from Humanity in Motion public service announcements. Plans include highlighting user-generated video. Go to http://www.youtube.com/rotaryinternational and check it out!
