We held another successful Golf Tournament on June 6^th at the Moorpark Country Club.  A special thank you goes out to the Chair of the event, Lyle Pennington, and Carolyn Schrimpf for handling the financial aspect of the event and Linda Plaks for heading up the auction/raffle.  Lyle did a marvelous job of organizing the event.  We also want to thank the Golf Committee, Team Captains, and all Rotarian’s for making this event such a success.  Carolyn reported the event was as financially successful as in past years.  Greg Schultze won the grand prize of a stay at Lake Arrowhead (thank you Robert Sichmeller) and a stay in Catalina (thank you Patty Waters).  Shock and Awe, the first place Rotary Team consisted of Eric Arnaud and Dale Parvin.  Dale made it very clear he did not keep score (their guest did).

Rotary Board Member Cindi Feig began our RYLA program by thanking Joe Joyce, RYLA  District Chair for attending our RYLA meeting program and for all of his effort in making RYLA such a success.  Cindi indicated that between our Club and the Morning Club, we sponsored nine kids at RYLA this year.  Many of the kids who attended RYLA were from the Moorpark High School Interact Club.  The teens shared with us how RYLA was life changing, wholesome, and amazing.  Some of what they learned at RYLA included “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you imagined.”  The motto for RYLA was “Goals, Courage, and Attitude.”  Each of the students shared how they were positively impacted by the experience.  You can fail your way to success.  Always “ask” that’s how you attain success.  A total of 250 students attended.  They learned life’s lessons and took notes so they could reflect back upon them.  In closing the students agreed, “It would be great to make the world like RYLA.”
