One of
the events that we will be sponsoring this season is a challenge between the
three elementary school districts to bring in canned and boxed foods to donate
to Grace Resources. Our goal is one item per students which would net
nearly 25,000 cans/boxes. Both Superintendents were very excited to be
asked and look forward to working with their students to give back to the
community. I also had a conversation with Steve Baker regarding us
donating turkeys for the holidays to go with the canned goods. He
indicated that he acquires certificates from one of the local markets to allow
the families to purchase their own turkeys. At the Board meeting, we
agreed we'd help get food to our needy families, a labor of love indeed.
Our
program on the MOAH in D owntown Lancaster last week was very
interesting. There looks to be opportunities for us to help sponsor
getting students to the exhibits or taking the trunk shows to them.
