| Posted by Cindy Holm on Dec 12, 2011 In a country where it is believed that a person with a disability is paying for a past life sin, it is not surprising to learn that there are limited resources for children and adults who are blind. Add to that fact that the country of Nepal is one of the poorest in the world, and the effect is compounded due to the limited resources of producing Braille. In the words of a Napali, “There has been no way for visually impaired Nepalis to broaden their horizons. There was simply no reading material available in Braille.” |
| Posted by Cindy Holm on Dec 12, 2011 For over 10 years, MV Rotary has been involved in the “Shop with a Cop” program for low income/at risk children. This year, 415 children were given $50 to shop for Christmas, and also have the opportunity to have a positive experience with a police officer. |
