What
would it take to change the world? Rotary's 1.2 million members believe it
starts with a commitment to Service Above Self. In more than 34,000 clubs
worldwide, you'll find Rotarians volunteering in communities at home and abroad
to support education and job training, provide clean water, combat hunger,
improve health and sanitation, and eradicate polio. There's something that all
Rotary club members have in common: We take action. As community volunteers, we
reach out to neighbors in need. We build, support, and organize. We save lives.
We work locally and globally.
The
Rotary Club of Dunwoody has 96 members and meets most Friday mornings at the
Ravinia Club for breakfast and a speaker. Our diverse membership includes
professionals, small business owners, executives, entrepreneurs and consultants.
The Club is part of District 6900 which is comprised of 70 Rotary Clubs.
Dunwoody Rotary was named District 6900 Club of the Decade for 1990-2000 and
for 2000-2010.
We
invite you to explore our website to learn about our many service activities in
our community and internationally and encourage you to contact us to learn more
about our Club and membership.
| Posted on Jan 25, 2012 As recipients of funds raised by RunDunwoody 2011, representatives of the Dunwoody Police Department led by Rotary Club of Dunwoody member Chief of Police Billy Grogan, DeKalb Fire Rescue led by Chief Eddie O'Brien, and the Cowart Family Ashford Dunwoody YMCA led by Executive Director Julie Koriaken recently accepted checks from the Rotary Club of Dunwoody. They are among the first recipients of several to benefit from the second year of our annual fundraising effort to help build stronger, safer communities…around the corner and around the world. | | Posted on Dec 07, 2011 A story in the December, 2011 edition of The Rotarian features Marion Bunch, member of The Rotary Club of Dunwoody and Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rotarians for Fighting AIDS: A Rotarian Action Group (RFFA). The article describes a Rotarians at Work Day coordinated by RFFA and Rotary District 9200 (Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda) during which thousands of Rotarians volunteered at over 125 sites to provide health services, counseling, and HIV testing to over 24,000 people in Kenya and Uganda.
The magazine reaches several hundred thousand of Rotary's 1.2 million+ members worldwide. | | With ample credit given to The Rotary Club of Dunwoody for funding, the Dunwoody Police Department has produced a great new video titled Dunwoody Blue: Dunwoody Police Department Highlights which provides an excellent orientation to the organization, functions and work of the Dunwoody Police Department. The video has been produced to give the citizens of this relatively new city (December 2008) an understanding of its even newer Police Department. The closing credit of the video is shown to the right. | | If you can't remember your Dunwoody password or ID, send an email to Patti Bunker . She can send your ID and reset your password. There's a lot of info in the Admin section of the site that can come in handy -- especially member contact info! Don't miss out! |
