Welcome to the Overland Park Rotary Club!
What is the Rotary Club of Overland Park, Kansas? Its people just like you who have concern for others—people who want to enhance their community through their gifts of time and money.
We are known for our infectious spirit, enthusiasm, support of one another and commitment to serve others. The Overland Park Rotary Club provides tens of thousands of dollars to area charities through funds raised at our annual community event, the July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular and through generous gifts by our own Overland Park Rotary Foundation. Hundreds of Kansas City area students have discovered their leadership potential and developed the skills to become community leaders by attending our Youth Leadership Institute.
Since 2006 our club has participated in Rotary International's Youth Exchange Program which enables our local high school students to become 'Ambassadors to the World' by living with host families and attending school abroad. Meanwhile, local families reciprocate by hosting Rotary exchange students from foreign countries.
OP Rotary also reaches beyond our local area to serve people of our global community. We have donated mosquito netting and provided funds to build a school and clean-water wells in Mali, Africa. Support has been given to build student libraries in Cambodia & Vietnam and we are currently engaged in a project to bring water wells to needy farmers in Nepal.
Visit our club any Monday for lunch to feel the energy, enjoy our camaraderie and learn for yourself why the OP Rotary Club is the most trusted name in community service. Discover how you can have fun networking with Overland Park Rotarians while helping and serving others in our community and around the world!

Two OP Rotarians Selected for RI Young Professionals Summit
A hearty congratulations to Daniel Fry and Trish Reedy who will join 30 other young leaders from across the U.S. at an invitation-only gathering of young Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Rotary alumni for an upcoming Rotary Young Professionals Summit to be held in Chicago. This is the first time RI has held a Summit of this kind, providing an opportunity for Rotary to hear from highly engaged young leaders. Rotary International’s goal is to learn more about what attracted them to Rotary, identify successful strategies to develop these members, and give Rotary clubs more tools to attract leaders, of all ages, to take action. There were 130 applications total from the U.S. submitted to RI for this opportunity to attend the Rotary Young Professionals Summit. Dan and Trish will be honored at the District 5710 Conference to be held May 8 to 9 in Manhattan. We are honored to have two outstanding Rotarians from our club selected for this elite conference. Thanks for your continued dedication to "Service Above Self." Links to their application videos are below.

Over $1000 Raised For ALS Research
On Tuesday, August 19th, Overland Park Rotarians gathered on the patio of the Doubletree Hotel for the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for ALS research. We have raised over $1000 so far and you can still contribute to the cause. Our donation to the local chapter will honor our own Bill Gonzalez, who recently resigned his membership while he continues to battle ALS. Watch the video to see Bill, front and center, take an ice bucket for the cause!! And what a treat it was to see Gene Troehler "cooling it" right next to him. Special thanks to Bob Hite for hosting the event and providing all the accommodations at the Doubletree.
We also challenged the OP South Club and the East Wichita Club to the challenge and to make a donation to ALS.
