Reaching out to the Community with messages about Rotary and the impact of the Shelterbox Program, several Bridgewater Rotarians set to the task of erecting a Shelterbox on the BSU quadrangle as part of Bridgewater's Independence Day celebration. The elegantly designed tent though somewhat complicated proved to be no match for the combined wits of Janet Dye, Fran Jeffries, Kevin Burley and Diana Jennings. That said, Kudos to Fran's daughter Jen, without whom progress would have not been possible.
Approximately 100 people viewed the Shelterbox display and discussed both Rotary and the Shelterbox with us. At least two individuals expressed interest in joining Rotary and many others contributed to our effort to raise funds sufficient for the purchase of a Shelterbox. For more information on the Shelterbox program, visit shelterbox.org.

Members of the Rotary Club of the Bridgewaters distributed 240 Thesauruses to 4th grade students at the Williams Intermediate School in Bridgewater this past week. Committed to improving literacy at home and around the world, Rotary gives Dictionaries to third graders in Bridgewater and West Bridgewater but Thesauruses to fourth graders in Bridgewater, because another community group provides Dictionaries to them in the third grade.
