Our Rotary club has decided to honor two long-time members of the Rotary Club of the Bridgewaters as its first "Rotarians of the Year," namely Robin "Red" Brittain and Russell Ernest Ball. This will be done as part of our first annual Rotary Super Bowl Dinner-Dance on January 26, 2013. Although several of our members may have done more for the club and district in recent years, these two men have "been there" for our club, their families and the community for many decades. They are shining examples of America's "Greatest Generation" that endured the Great Depression, served in our country's military (Russ in the Army Air Corps and Red in the United States Marines) during World War II while helping to save the world from Fascism, and then participated in the rebuilding of the post-war economy and social fabric by being committed God-fearing family-men and hard-working leaders (Red as a business owner and Russ as a YMCA executive).

Due to the effects of Hurricane Sally Rotary's annual Citizen of the Year program, originally planned for October 30th. has been rescheduled for Tuesday, December 4th at 7pm at the Moakley Center at Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, MA.
