The theme of this year's District Conference, Celebrating Peace through service combined educational and fun interactive opportunities. Clubs competed building shelter boxes and answering Rotary questions during Rotary Family feud. Club successes were celebrated throughout the meeting.
Club members enjoyed an evening of socializing at Black Wing Shooting Center Tuesday, May 14. Wild Bill (Williams) shoots targets as others watch and wait their turn.

On February 14, Barb Tull, a Delaware resident, described the six months she spent in the Phillipines with the Peace Corp Response program.
Guest Speakers at the Delaware Rotary receive a thank-you letter and have a children's book given to the Delaware County Library in their name. Tom Stalf, Interim Director of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium updated members of the Club about the new African Safari currently under development at the Zoo. A few furry friends came to visit as well.
In recognition of November being Rotary Foundation Month, Gary Vaughan, 25 year Rotarian and Cap City Club member spoke to the Club about "What District 6690 Does Worldwide."
Fran Veverka, Delaware County General Health District and Rotary Club member gave fellow members an update on the district.
Paul Craft, Superintendent of Delaware City Schools and member of the Delaware Rotary Club, presented a state of the schools report at the October 22nd Club meeting.
October 8th State Representative, Andrew Brenner and former Representative Joan Lawrence presented the pros and cons of Issue 2, which will appear on the ballot in November.
Distric Governor, Michael Brown from the Olentangy Club, spoke to the Delaware Rotary Club on Monday, September 10. Members of the Club donated 9-volt batteries for People in Need to distribute replacement batteries for smoke alarms. Kevin Krowley, Director of People in Need attended the meeting and gratefully accepted the batteries from District Governor Brown.
District Govenor, Michael Brown, administered the oath to new President, Mary Jane Santos, and the other 2013 officers and directors of the Delaware Rotary Club.

The Delaware Rotary Club recently presented the Grace Free Clinic with an $8,400 check for the purchase of an automatic external defibrillator and other medical supplies. As demand for the Grace Free Clinic continues, the community's support of this service is critical. Grace Free Clinic is open every Wednesday evening, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., and is located at the Andrews House.
