| Posted by Kim Ross on Jun 01, 2012 The Eden Prairie Noon Rotary Club funds many local and international projects every year. Most of these projects benefit children. From My Book Day which supports childhood literacy in Eden Prairie, to our Nigerian water project that provides fresh water to schoolchildren. Ribfest is the Club's primary fundraiser and is held in conjunction with the Minnesota Festival of Jazz on the Prairie, sponsored by the City of Eden Prairie.

- Welcome guest Conn McCartan, principal of Eden Prairie High School.
- Fundraising focus - the Club has funded many great projects this year, including distributing 719 books at My Book Day. Now we need to focus on raising funds to support future projects. Get out and sell those Ribfest tickets! Also, remember that the Club sells advertising on its home page for $100 per year.

- Bob Danielson reminded the Club that the Beyond the Yellow Ribbon kick-off is Saturday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lion's Club tent at Schooner Days.
- Ribfest is 10 days away! Prep work will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church at noon, Saturday, June 9. Please use the west doors of the church. Contact Rich Weaver if you can help with prep work. Contact Dave Engen if you can help with serving. Remember, all servers must wear a hat.
- Rotary International year end is quickly approaching, please donate to The Rotary Foundation.
- Kim Ross, Bill Falk and Gary Gibertson are coordinating speakers for next year. Please contact Kim with any ideas you have for speakers.
Tony Ripley and Jim Overacker from the Eagan Rotary Club spoke to the group about the Rotary Ethics Workshop they developed. The Eden Prairie Noon Rotary Club will be sponsoring this workshop for Eden Prairie High School students next year. The workshop was developed in partnership with Dr. Ken Goodpaster, a well-known professor on business ethics that is currently at the University of St. Thomas. The workshop begins with a lecture by Tom Wilson, former principal of Eagan High School, on recognizing ethical dilemmas. The next section is a discussion of tools to help navigate ethical dilemmas. The students then break into groups of six for a simulation exercise where they work through ethical dilemmas in a business context. Patricia Magnuson, Rick Johnson, and Jack Haedicke are the Club steering committee for this project. | | Posted by Kim Ross on Jun 01, 2012 Notes from the May 24 meeting of the Eden Prairie Noon Rotary:
