Rotary Club and Town of West Springfield has announced that all proceeds from the Taste of the Valley 5K Road Race will be donated to The One Fund Boston, established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15. The Taste 5K will take place Sunday, June 9 at 10 a.m. and is held in conjunction with West Side’s Taste of the Valley, sponsored by Chicopee Savings Bank, June 6-9 on the Park Street Town Common.

“Because the bombing happened at a running event, the running community has reached out in many ways to help those in need. The Rotary Club of West Springfield would like to do its part as well to support the many people injured on Boylston Street,” said Rotarian Steve Lang, organizer of the Taste of the Valley 5K. The Rotary Club of West Springfield has announced the 2013 entertainment line-up for “West Side’s Taste of the Valley” which takes place on the Park Street Town Common June 6-9. The event’s title sponsor this year is Chicopee Savings Bank.

Headliner for this year’s event is legendary folk/rocker Jonathan Edwards, known for iconic hits of the 70s such as “Sunshine,” “Everybody Knows Her” and “Shanty.” He will perform Sunday, June 9 at 2 p.m.
