Bella Ruwart became Monroe's newest Rotarian. She was inducted at a ceremony held during the October 23 Membership Mingle, as her husband Mike watched in the audience. There was fun, food and great music at the 3rd Annual Monroe Rotary Membership Mingle held at the Monroe Quality Inn on Tuesday evening, October 23. In addition to about 50 Monroe Rotarians, 13 guests had the opportunity to get a high-level view of Rotary International and learn about the local and international service projects of our local club.

The Reverend Mikal Featchurs, a wonderful man, minister and Monroe Rotarian, passed on Sunday, March 27, 2011 following a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer. Mikal joined Monroe Rotary in 2007. His sponsor was Dr. Scott Hughes, DPM.

SAN DIEGO – The American Medical Association (AMA) today awarded its 2010 Benjamin Rush Award for Citizenship and Community Service to Busharat Ahmad, M.D., an ophthalmologist from Monroe, Mich. Dr. Ahmad has been a Rotarian for 43 years, serving in several leadership positions in the Manistee, MI and Monroe, MI clubs.
