Meghan Lester proposed a novel fundraising project to the CRRC Board several months ago involving the purchase of low-cost plastic rain barrels, getting local businesses to underwrite the $250 cost for paint and other supplies, and then creating a contest among local high school artists to decorate the rain barrels. The barrels would be auctioned to the highest bidder in the spring of 2013 at an event hosted by the club hopefully on the waterfront generating funds for the charitable work of the club.

A proposed letter, reproduced below, would be sent to local businesses soliciting their support for this project along with an application. Should you know of any businesses who may be interested in helping with this project, please provide the business name and contact information to Meghan such that this information can be submitted to them.
