River City High School Prep Band, 16 members strong, made an impressive entrance as the weekly meeting began to play in tribute of the two River City High School football coaches as part of the high school themed program. The season opener for both River City High School and Christian Brothers is Friday, August 24th against each other. All 4 coaches spoke to the assembled audience about their respective football programs. All traded friendly barbs and heaped praise for their fellow and competing coaches as they all have known each other for many years. Although RCHS is in a different level than CB, the coaches promised RCHS would be present and try everything including passing. All coaches agreed, Friday, August 24th would be a great game at RCHS Football field. Be there!

On June 21st, 2012, at the Club Pheasant, The Rotary Club of West Sacramento conducted its 63rd Demotion Dinner. Outgoing President Jeff Post was roasted by Jim Cahill. President Elect Mark Engstrom was sworn in and pinned as the 64th President of the Rotary Club of West Sacramento; "We're not here for a long time, We're here for a Good Time!".
