Welcome to our Rotary Club!
The 2013 Rotary Circle Community Project at Boerner Botanical Gardens has been launched!
Our new project will impact thousands who may not otherwise be able to enjoy this beautiful and historic site due to walking difficulties.
The project consists of an ADA-accessible path leading from Boerner's Herb Garden to the Bog Walk
Phase I of the project will cost approximately $170,000. The focal point is a patio half circle with seat walls and will be built with two matching fieldstone pillars with capstone together with formal pots and matching benches.
Phase II of the project focuses on fundraising with an emphasis on the walkway/path itself. You are encouraged to purchase a brick to memorialize someone or simply to support the project. See the details and order form in the attached file.
Visit the WPRC Web page (Boerner Rotary Circle Project) on this site that is dedicated to this project. And, don't forget to donate!
Benevolent Bennett says: The answer will be given by each individual Rotarian at the weekly luncheon. Please, no sharing of the answer with others. Our goal is to have every Rotarian answer the question correctly by reading The Rotarian. You are on your honor. Don’t let us down!!
The first meeting of every month is "First Tuesday" at Whitnall Park Rotary. Our members bring non-perishable food items to help stock area food pantries. The public can help by bringing their donations to our meeting at Klemmer’s Banquet Center at noon on "First Tuesday."
Three members of Whitnall Park Rotary Club were recognized as Paul Harris Fellows at the annual Changing of the Guard in June 2013. Whitnall Park Rotary, unlike many other clubs, does not require members to donate to The Rotary Foundation in order to become a Paul Harris Fellow. Rather, WPRC members are recognized for their work by the club's making the required donation on their behalf and then presenting them with the Paul Harris Fellow award. Outgoing WPRC President Michael Breitbach announced the presentations.
The first 2013 recipient was Attorney George T. Weber (deceased January 2010). He was recognized both for his faithfulness to Rotary and for his work in the community of Hales Corners throughout his career. His daughter, Cynthia Emmett, received the post mortem recognition on her father's behalf.
WPRC members James Helminski and Jack Williams were also recognized as Paul Harris Fellows for their work on the Rotary Circle Project at Boerner Botanical Gardens. Williams received his award at a weekly club luncheon in July from 2013-2014 WPRC President Scott Schenke.
