Check out our latest video! About 70 volunteers recently spent a morning cleaning invasive algae out of Weeki Wachee Springs in Hernando County. The volunteer event was a coordinated effort by the District and local rotary clubs to remove a blue-green algae known as Lyngbya.

The Rotary Clubs of Hernando County have joined forces on a community water project involving Weeki Wachee Springs. Currently there is a serious algae in the Springs that has caused major damage to other springs in Florida. Starting Saturday, July 20, we will begin removing the algae, Lyngbya, from the Springs...
