The Rotary Clubs of District 5080 (WA, ID and BC) offer an intensive, one-week leadership 
training program for young people aged 18-25.  The program incorporates, through a number of 
excellent presenters, challenging small and large group work and interaction with approximately 50 other young adults. It provides opportunities to discover and strengthen leadership skills in an encouraging environment.

If you know a youth who may benefit from RYLA, please download and copy the application form, located on the right hand side of this web page.  Deadline is May 31st.

Assistant Governor Kees, Nelson Rotary Club President Elect Ed, District Governor Elect Bob, Nelson Rotary Club President Wendy, Nelson Daybreak Club President Elect Sandra and District Governor Nominee Norm, together at PETS; a 3 day, intensive training session in Seattle.  The sessions were inspirational, motivational, informative with updates on the PoliPlus Eradication Program, Membership, New Generations and the RI Foundation.

Past President Ken and Past District Governor Mike inducted Marisa as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Nelson.  In her acceptance remarks, Marisa recalled fond memories of the work done by Rotary in South Africa and she is looking forward to becoming an active member of Rotary in Canada.

Rotarians, Friends and members of the Nelson Maple Leafs unload over 400 Christmas Trees at the west end of WalMart.  The proceeds from this fundraiser will go to local Rotary projects.  Sales start Friday November 30th.

On August 5th, 2011, at the regular club meeting, Rotary International Trustee Stephen Brown was the guest speaker.  Trustee Stephen highlighted several major Rotary Club and Individual funded and co-funded school projects in Afghanistan.
