The YEX students organized a Fundraising dinner to raise money for  ShelterBox on Feb 11, 2012.  It was held at the Acadia Recreation Complex, 240 90 Ave SE in Calgary. They raised $18,000.

On behalf of the Trustees of Rotary Foundation, the Assistant District Governor presented David with the three emblems of a Paul Harris Fellow: the certificate, a lapel pin and medallion.  The certificate states that he has been named a Paul Harris Fellow, "in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations between peoples of the world."

 Our club has donated 4 dozen English dictionaries to Buchanan School for their grade 3 students.  The inside of the front cover has the stick-on with the Rotary Four Way Test

Objectives

• to encourage Rotarians and others, through contributions and bequests, to build a capital fund which will provide enduring support for the community services of the Calgary Rotary Clubs.
• to manage and invest these capital funds in a prudent and conservative manner so as to achieve optimum annual income.
• to return to the participating Rotary Clubs the annual earning on the contributions of each club's members to be used by them for community service purposes.
