Who can use it? How is it arranged? Who should be contacted for information? Please see the download link on this page (the File Download column is on the lower left) that we will leave there for the forseeable future so it can be found when needed. We will also be sending you an email with this document to you so that if you get inquiries about it from anyone interested in using the Rotary House facility you can provide them with it. | | Posted by Sally Garen Your PR committee regretfully informs you that we have not received any entries to our Multi-Media Competition themed on the Rotary 4-Way Test, wherelocal youth were encouraged to enter to win up to $1,000!This is unfortunate because we were considering running it again next year as we thought it was valuable PR and encouragement to the younger generation to familiarize themselves with the Rotary organzation. If you have comments for us as to what we could have done/not done to generate entries, we would be happy to hear them. Feel free to email the PR Committee at rotaryclubofcanmore@gmail.com. | | Posted by Jane Neil Adventure in Citizenship – April 28 – May 1 - Ottawa This 5 day action packed program is coordinated and hosted annually by Ottawa area Rotary Clubs. You may view the initial design at http://www.gogographics.ca/rotaryprWe are targeting to launch the new site by January 30, 2013. Your new PR Committee consists of: Sally Garen, John Thorburn, Bob Aishford and Brian Travers.
We held our first meeting of the year on Monday, July 16th and have this information to share with you: · We discussed lots of new ideas for PR, including an annual PR event in Canmore – we will let you know when more develops on that · We will be creating a new PR website this year that is very public-friendly at CanmoreRotary.com. It will be geared more towards the general goals of Rotary and how to get involved. It will run alongside the Clubrunner site which is more member-friendly. We plan to fund this site by selling advertising to Rotarians in business. If anyone is interested, please talk to anyone on the committee. We have not formulated the exact workings of the advertising yet. · We will be creating a new PR POLICY document as a guideline to all Club members and committee heads to clarify/unite and strengthen all of our collective efforts towards letting the public know what we are doing | | Posted by Jim Price | | Posted by Sally Garen
Building Basic Education in Guatemala Report from Doug Jones, January 2012 | | Posted by Jim Price Rotary and its partners have been working over the past two decades eradicating polio from 99% of the world. We are now on the brink of achieving this goal, but a strong push is needed to get rid of the other 1% once and for all. It is a window of opportunity of historic proportions. Your contribution will help Rotary raise $200 million to match $355 million in challenge grants received from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The resulting $555 million will directly support immunization campaigns in developing countries, where polio continues to infect and paralyze children, robbing them of their futures and compounding the hardships faced by their families. As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high. Please contact The Rotary Club of Canmore at (janrickmatthews@gmail.com) to make your pledge. |
