The District Assembly is the perfect opportunity to have your Clubs Leadership Team learn all the ropes just in time for the start of the new Rotary Year. Everyone has something to learn!

Be sure to sign up now as registration is $35 (per attendee) for the Early Bird Price but after May 18th the price goes up to $45.

The Assembly is for all club leaders, Incoming President, Presidents 2013-14, Secretaries, Treasurers, All 5 Avenues of Service Directors, Foundation Chairs, and Membership Chairs. Public Relation Chairs and All Board Members.

The Foundation Celebration Chair, John Ramey will have a table set up at the District Assembly where he will be accepting table reservation payments for the Paul Harris Foundation Celebration which will take place October 27th at the Bonaventure Hotel. To make a table reservation, please bring a check or credit card for $1,250 (tickets will be $125 each and each table seats 10). The purchase of a table will allow you to choose your table location for your club and a diagram will be there for you to look at. District 5280 invites you to attend a 25th Anniversary Celebration of Women in Rotary on Sunday, May 20, 2012, 11:30-1:30, at Killer Shrimp in Marina del Rey. This luncheon is open to all Rotarians, spouses, partners and friends. We are honored to have the first female Rotary Club President Sylvia Whitlock as our special speaker and she will share the story of her journey in Rotary which included a few brave men who decided to include women in their clubs.

The Beverly Hills Rotary Club would like to invite all of District 5280 to attend their meeting at the Beverly Hills Hotel to hear Past RI President Rick King speak. One of Rotary's most popular speakers, Mr. King has addressed Rotary International Conventions, Assemblies, Institutes, Seminars, Conferences and Rotary Clubs in every state in the USA and some 100 countries. As President, he let Rotary International to its greatest one-year growth record in its 105-year history, with 75,000 New Members Net, a global membership of 1,243,431 and 1,158 New Rotary Clubs in 2001-2002, more than one new club every 8 hours. In the same year, Rotarians contributed the highest amount of money ever raised for the Annual Fund of the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary District 5280 Interact Council of Clubs established an annual Interact scholarship in 2004.  They named the scholarship in honor and respect for the outstanding leadership of Interact Governor Patricia Kim.  The scholarship is given to an Interactor excelling in their education and in contributing service to their community. Did you have a amazing time at RYLA? Well then you should come to the International Food Festival on Saturday, May 26th from 11:30am-3:00pm at the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum park area at 18127 S. Alameda St., Rancho Dominguez. This is a great chance to see all the friends you made at RYLA and enjoy some international cuisine. The Annual District Interact Aloha Dinner is planned for Sunday, June 10th from 5:30-8pm at the Hacienda Hotel, 525 S. Sepulveda Blvd. in El Segundo. The cost to attend is $20. To nominate your Interact Club for its outstanding service and projects then please submit your recognition report to Jeremy Brown by June 1st. Itzhak Perlman's Concert to End Polio Now tickets are still avaliable. The date of the Concert to End Polio Now is Sunday February 10, 2013. Tickets are on sale from May 14th to July 31st.

Acclaimed for his exceptional talent, legendary violinist and polio survivor Itzhak Perlman is one of the preeminent musicians of our generation. For this special performance, the Orange County Philharmonic Society will partner with Rotary International in its efforts to End Polio by selling a select number of seats to contribute to the cause.
