District Conference was full of information, entertainment, awards, food and excellent fellowship!  It was a celebration of what District 6000 clubs have accomplished.  To see some of the photos, click on 11-12 District Conference under Photo Albums to the right.

The 4th annual Charles Gabus Memorial Bike ride is scheduled for Saturday June 23. The event will be held at the Charles Gabus Memorial Tree Park (behind the Urbandale Library), 3520 86th Street, Urbandale.  Registration for the event will be from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. or you can register on-line at www.cgm-br.com.  Come out to support a great cause and get some good exercise!

Training for District Leaders from D6000, D5970, D5950 and Club Leaders will be offered by our Zone Leaders, on Saturday, July 14 at the Quality Inn & Suites Starlite Village in Ames.  Check in and Continental Breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m. with the program starting at 8:30 a.m.  Preregistration is required by July 6th. John Ockenfels of the Rotary Club of Iowa City AM was selected by the District Nominating Committee as District Governor 2014-15. John joined Rotary in 1986 and his background is in Manufacturing - Recycling Services.  John and his wife Deb, make their home in Swisher.  We look forward to John's continued involvement in the district and his future term of leadership.
