2011-12 District 6440 "End Polio Now" Club Project Toolkit
EPN Club Project Toolkit

ImageGREETINGS FELLOW ROTARIANS:

On this page you'll find your  “Tool Kit” for this year’s Polio Campaign.  Included is useful information, ideas, “free” brochures available from Rotary International and a Time Line for this year’s campaign.  Links to all materials are on the left side of this page.

We hope you will make use of these materials in your efforts to participate with the entire district in helping us to meet the Gates Challenge goal of raising at least $2,000 per club per year during the 5 years of the campaign.  Our District’s goal throughout this campaign has been to support the effort by encouraging the participation of each and every member in each club in the District.  If you are unsure of your Club’s participation status thus far, please contact your Assistant Governor.

The Gates Challenge has 18 months to go, but it is hoped that we will reach the finish line in time for the Bangkok convention next spring.  Please help us get this year off to a running start by doing the following:

  1. Submit your EPN pledge goal if you haven’t already done so.
  2. Report the name of your EPN coordinator to Ellen Young
  3. Report the date of any EPN challenge fundraiser to Rich Lalley for inclusion on the District Website and Facebook Page.
  4. Post pictures of your events on District Facebook Page (and you club page too!).  Also, post stories about your fundraisers  on your local newspaper websites.
Please submit any monies raised in Fall Fundraisers to The Rotary Foundation by December 31st.  If you don’t do a specific fundraiser for polio, think about allocating a portion of your annual fundraiser to polio eradication.  Avoid the June rush to by submitting your donations early.  This is especially important this year, as Rotary hopes to meet the $200 Million Gates Challenge Grant before the Bangkok convention in May 2012.

With the end in sight, every single Rotarian should be able to say that he/she PERSONALLY supported the effort to end polio in some way – and every club should be able to proudly announce its own legacy to end polio.

We’ve got the tools.  Just ask a member of the End Polio Now (EPN) committee for help – Ellen Young has free brochures galore from RI and “This Close” posters to borrow for your events.  Just call her at the number below. We’ve assigned an EPN Committee member to each district club to help you and to make presentations, and WE MAKE HOUSE CALLS!

Thanks for everything you’ll be doing to be a part of this effort this year.
