Camp Mockingee is a great place to have fun. Swimming, hiking, winter and summer sport, campfires! It's all here for your group.

Children and youth of all ages - Scouts, Guides, Cadets, schools, church groups - have been our guests since 1949.

A major project of the Windsor Rotary Club since 1949 Camp Mockingee under the direction of Camp Committee Chairman Daryl Sullivan, now offers year-round camping experiences to the youth of Hants County, the valley and also to those of the Halifax Regional Municipality and beyond. Several international groups use the camp during most years.  Camp Mockingee has undergone extensive reconstruction in recent years specifically the renovation of the Kitchen Building. This, now completely modernized year-round facility is twice the size of its predecessor and is used extensively in the winter and shoulder seasons as a centre for various seminars and work shops.

The recently expanded Kitchen/dining Building boasts a full service kitchen featuring walk-in refrigeration and the ability to prepare and serve meals to as many as 100 persons per sitting.  Winter accommodation is available in the Kirk Building which can accommodate as many as 24 persons. Summer, spring and fall accommodation in the recently renovated original dining hall, now renamed "Vale House" in recognition of Ted and Marion Vale's volunteer efforts, mean that as many as 50 campers can be housed for 365 days a year.  In addition six unheated cabins provide 48 beds for the May through October camping months.

The Windsor Rotary Club has spent several hundred thousand dollars on the acquisition and development of Camp Mockingee of which it is very proud, and is extremely grateful for the support received from the community, the Province of Nova Scotia and the towns of Hantsport, Windsor and the Municipality of the District of Hants West.
