Don Mitchell, CBE, QC, joined the Rotary Club of Anguilla in 1976. In 2010-11, Don is the Secretary of the club - a position he has held many times. He has also held positions as President, Treasurer, Secretary, Chair of Club Services, Chair of Vocational Services, and Chair of International Services.
Don was born and raised in St. Kitts, Trinidad, Jamaica, and Anguilla. He has, as he says, been to the "Hedge of the Edge." (You'll have to ask Don for an explanation of this.)
Don's classification is Law Consultancy (though some might classify him as a storyteller non-pareil). Don gave his classification talk in 1977. It might be time for him to try it once again on the newer members.
Outside of Rotary, in the community, Don is involved with the Jaycees, Family Planning, Caribbean Conservation Association, and the Association of Caribbean Historians.
Don enjoys gardening and West Indian history research. Don is married to Maggie (1971) and they have no children. (Don adds, "Thank God!")
Don tells us that he has traveled to every continent and then some.
Don's main goal for his current Rotary year is simply to live past it.
Your stories surely liven the meetings, Don. Welcome!
