Club Awards

The Rotary Club of Forest Grove annually recognizes its own members and non-Rotarians of the Forest Grove community for their efforts to provide service and further the mission of Rotary International.

MIKE WARD COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The Mike Ward Community Service Award honors an individual from outside the club who exemplifies the Rotary objective of Service Above Self by his or her volunteer service in and for the greater Forest Grove areas.  Nominees must live or work and volunteer significant time for the betterment of the communities of Forest Grove, Banks, Cornelius, Gaston and North Plains communities, and must be nominated by a club member.  The award includes a $250 contribution to a charity chosen by the award recipient.  The Mike Ward Community Service Award is presented annually at the club's annual Crab Feed.

The award was created by the club in honor of Mike Ward, a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Forest Grove.  A longtime active contributor to the club from 1983 to 2008, Mike died in 2008 after a long battle with ALS.

Tori Eaton was the 2012 recipient of the Mike Ward Community Service Award. Ms. Eaton was recognized for her work to start and operate the Forest Grove United Church of Christ's Severe Weather Shelter, which provides overnight housing to homeless people during cold winter nights in our area.  Other past winners of this award include Al Miller, Mary Jo Morelli, Lyle Speisschaert and Merrie Greene French.

FOUR-WAY TEST AWARD
Presented annually by the club's Four-Way Test committee, this award recognizes Forest Grove Rotary members who have been active in club programs and who best demonstrate the fundamentals of Rotary's Four-Way Test...

• Is the the TRUTH?
• Is it FAIR to all concerned?
• Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
• Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
