The Strongsville Rotary Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization founded on October 7, 1994. It was created to provide an avenue for tax-free contributions and as a financial "foundation" for the Club. The Foundation is managed by seven directors, including the three immediate past presidents of the Rotary Club of Strongsville, and four directors elected at large by members of the Rotary Club of Strongsville.
The foundation raises funds through contributions from members, community organizations, the club and via events, including the annual golf outing and Bridgestone Professional Golf Tournament ticket sales. The Foundation awards scholarships annually to High School students including students who are part of the Connections program. In addition, the Foundation selects the annual Harry Fuehrer Community Service Awardee and administers the Harry Fuehrer Fellows program. Club members who are Paul Harris Fellows, and who contribute $500 to the Strongsville Rotary Foundation, become Harry Fuehrer Fellows. The fellowship was named for the first president of the Rotary Club of Strongsville.
Foundation projects and contributions include community projects like Safety Town, the amphitheater at the Backyard Preserve, the City Welcome signs, Camp Cheerful high ropes, Old Town Hall preservation, the VFW War Memorial, the Strongsville Soccer complex, as well as contributions to national and world disaster areas.
