Kandace Harvey is the owner of Harvey Airfield just south of Snohomish. She is also the President/CEO of Snohomish Flying Service--the flight instruction operation of the business. The Harvey Family homesteaded the property in the mid 1800's and started Harvey Airfield in 1945. Harvey Field continues to thrive as an important aviation component in the Puget Sound Regional Airport System, and to the City of Snohomish, providing much needed relief to general aviation for the congested Seattle-Tacoma aviation community.

Jason Gooding is the Naval Station Everett School Liaison Officer. He will talk about what he does to help the families with school-aged children integrate into the local communities where the families live. We have quite a large presence of military families in Lake Stevens. This is vital work to help those that are deployed on our behalf.

Mark Murphy is the Lead Response Program Manager for the Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management. Scott Honaker is the DEM Radio Officer and as such is responsible for making sure that the various local, county, state, regional and national agencies can communicate with each other during disaster events. September is Disaster Preparedness Month. They will talk about being prepared for the types of disasters we can expect here in this area as well as what to do if the aftermath of a disaster.

Chuck Morrison is the Regional Director of the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross. An occassional presenter to our Club, he will close out the series on Disaster Preparedness by talking about what the Red Cross does to help people be ready for disasters as well as what the organization does after a disaster has occurred and how we can help. One way is to volunteer to be a member of the Disaster Response Team. One of our members was a Team Captain for many years.
