Superintendent Jordan will discuss the
hidden but powerful role of the County Superintendent of Schools and how the
county office works with school districts, business leaders, community members
and families to divert the School-to-Prison Pipeline and prepare students to
compete and succeed in college and the workplace. The Alameda County Office of Education serves the 18 school districts in the county, comprised of more
than 400 schools. Superintendent Jordan will be joined by Karen Monroe,
Associate Superintendent of Educational Services, to speak about some of their
more recent innovative programs to enhance learning.
