mentoring. Hatch Detroit was co-founded by Nick Gorga and Ted Balowski,
metro Detroit natives who are passionate about the revitalization of
the city and inspiring others in the community to create change.

For Crew and Country is the story of the crew of a destroyer escort that in October 1944 sacrificed itself to help save MacArthur's forces ashore. Using excerpts from letters written to and from different crew, the talk will highlight the amazing feats accomplished by these men and emphasize the lessons we can learn from these veterans. John Wukovits is a historical author focused on the World War II Pacific rim.

The museum will open just for Grosse Pointe Rotarians and our guests. This will be a great chance to tour the redone Detroit Historical Museum. We will have a box lunch and then a chance to enjoy the museum.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Edmunds received a B.A. from Cornell University in 1969, a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Chicago in 1971, and a J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 1976. She was a law clerk to Hon. Ralph Freeman, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Michigan from 1976 to 1978. She was in private practice in Detroit, Michigan from 1978 to 1992.
On September 11, 1991, Edmunds was nominated by President George H. W. Bush to a seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan vacated by Richard Fred Suhrheinrich. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on February 6, 1992, and received her commission on February 10, 1992. She assumed senior status on August 1, 2012. Judge Edmunds has handled some noteworthy cases including Kwame Kilpatrick.
