Swing for fun - your golf clubs, that is - and to help out three good causes by signing up now for the November 3 ClubCorp Charity Classic hosted by Bear's Best Atlanta in Suwanee. The annual golf tournament not only includes 18 holes of golf at one of Golf Magazine's "Top Ten Courses You Can Play in America" as well as a boxed lunch AND dinner, it also includes some of the best tournament swag around.

It’s always more fun to run with a partner, but if you need additional incentive to get your heart racing with your sweetheart, friend, or neighbor, then the Rotary Club of Buford/North Gwinnett has a sweet deal for you. Runners who sign up together for the Suwanee Sweetheart 5K Sprint on Saturday, February 9, will receive a discount – but individual runners are welcome as well! The registration fee is $25 for individual runners, but pairs can sign up for $40. To register, visit active.com or print the application form available in the "Download" section of this website. Hosted by the Rotary Club of Buford/North Gwinnett, the Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint will begin at 9 a.m. Race-day registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. at Town Center, which is located at Buford Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. The race will be run through Town Center and along the Suwanee Creek Greenway.

| Sept.'s Student of the Month: Jessica Meiss by DeWilde, Lynne
The Rotary Club of Buford/North Gwinnett honored Jessica Meiss as September's Student of the Month. Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes a Taylor Elementary fifth-grader who exemplifies characteristics esteemed by Rotary.
Jessica has attended Taylor - and earned all As - since second grade. In addition to being an outstanding student, she is a talented softball player and artist. "Jessica is helpful and kind to her classmates and teachers," said her teacher, Susan Kincade.
"In honoring Jessica today," Kincade added, "you have shown the students of Taylor that the community is watching, and rewarding, their exemplary behavior."

You're invited to give, golf, and dine at one of metro Atlanta's best charity golf tournaments, the ClubCorp Charity Classic at Bear's Best on Sunday, November 4. While you're enjoying golfing and dinner with friends, you'll also be helping out the Buford/North Gwinnett Rotary Club as well as two other non-profits, MDA's Augie's Quest and Employee Partners Care Foundation. The golf tournament is the Rotary Club's top fundraiser of the year, and the money raised assists club members in providing service and assistance throughout the North Gwinnett community.
The registration fee is $150 per golfer and includes dinner. The tournament begins at noon with a shotgun start; dinner is at 5 p.m. You may register online. Please also consider being a tournament sponsor; information is in the download section of this page.

If you're sweet on running, have we got an event for you! The Rotary Club of Buford/North Gwinnett is hosting its first annual Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint 5K at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 11. And, there's a sweet deal for those who register as a pair - so sign up with your sweetheart, friend, familiy member, or neighbor.
Race-day registration and packet pick-up are at Suwanee Town Center Park, located at Buford Highway and Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. The race itself will begin just across the street on Main Street and wind through historic Old Town. This course may provide a good short training run for those preparing for the Atlanta Half Marathon as it has a couple of impressive hills. Runners may sign up by downloading the application available on this website (just scroll down and look for it under "Downloads" in the left margin) or by visiting active.com. The registration fee is $25 per individual or $40/pair of runners who register together.
Participants who register by February 6 are guaranteed a long-sleeve tech/dri-fit official race shirt as well as other sweet goodies. Race-day registration and packet pick-up will begin at Town Center at 7:30 a.m. Race start is at 9.
