Our Beautiful Lake Lanier.....
In 1956 Lake Lanier was created as a man made reservoir encompassing 38,000 acres of water and 692 miles of shoreline at the normal 1071 full pool level. At the dam, the lake is more than 160 feet deep. Lake Lanier includes 5 surrounding counties being Hall, Forsyth, Dawson, Gwinnett and Lumpkin. Hall county having the highest percentage of the lake property and Lumpkin having the least.
Our lake level has been incredibly high this year and continues to have the full pool level of 1071 forecasted over the next four weeks. This has afforded the opportunity for our local businesses around the lake to excel in revenue this season bringing much fun and entertainment to our area.
We are very blessed to live in the beautiful surroundings that Lake Lanier offers. We hope you will join us on September 28th for our annual community project, Shore Sweep. Meet us at Baldridge Marina at 8:00am for a fun morning of sharing and working together as a Rotary family. This brings to mind a short clip that I received from my church this week. It goes like this:
Busy people have conversations; Connected people build relationships
Busy people talk about life; Connected people share their lives
Busy people are overwhelmed by their schedules; Connected people find rest in their friendships
Busy people burn out; Connected people grow!
I hope you will choose to get connected with your fellow Rotarians and continue to grow in your Rotary relationships for a life time.
See you on September 28th for a time of connection and growth!
