Tablesides
by Mike Meyer

Still time to sign up for Tablesides!

Tableside is an opportunity for our membership to get to know one another in a more intimate setting. It also is a good way to fulfill Red Badge requirements.

If you are interested in attending or being a host, please contact Mike Meyer at mmeyer@saluteheroes.org or by cell 913 244-8200 for further information.

The concept is to have a host gather 4 to 5 people in their home. The guests can bring a pot luck dish added to the main course provided by the host. The event would last approximately two hours with discussions on topics or ideas that are of interest to all.  The host will be the point of contact once they are provided with a list of guests.

December 1st -- hosted by Carol Watts

Guests include Tracy Ellenz, Ryan Cook, Stephen Heiner and Evelyn Davis.

December 3rd -- Contact Mike Meyer to host or attend.

Books for Kids
by Jeff Goodman

Educational Books for Needy Children

We are currently looking for donations of books to donate to the Head Start Program for children who do not have educational books.  We are also accepting donations.  We are trying to raise at least $275 to purchase 600 books we found at a garage sale. They are mostly hard back books and in excellent condition, many of them are brand new.  Normally, these books would cost over $6000.

Of course, with any money we raise over the $275, we will continue to purchase books for the program.  To donate books or contribute money, please email me at Jeff.Goodman@spencerreed.com
