| 2012 LITERACY PROJECT - Dictionaries to Third Graders

The club's LITERACY PROJECT is underway and the Rotary Club of Oregon/Northwood is organizing the purchase, personalization, and presentation of a special Dictionary to every third grade student in Oregon and Northwood Schools- both Public and Private. Each student receives their very own dictionary that is inscribed with their name. Rotarians volunteer to make the delivery to each student which is coordinated beforehand with the third grade teachers of that school. Reactions from the children have ranged from awe to surprise and even giggles when they come up to the front of the classroom and are handed their very own dictionary. The children are delighted to be singled out and recognized in the classroom and see their name in print. Rotarians thank you for your support and efforts in this fundraising effort to support the LITERACY PROJECT through Dictionaries to Third Graders!
