Welcome to our Club Web Site!

On behalf of the Janesville Morning Rotary Club....Welcome!

This is an exciting time of the year for the Janesville Morning Rotary Club!

Each year, the club provides grants for nonprofit agencies that serve Janesville and surrounding communities.  More than $20,000 was returned to the commmunity in 2011.

This month the Janesville Morning Rotary announced that all nonprofit agencies interested in grant funding from the club should make their requests known no later than Friday, March 23, 2012.

Requests may be mailed to the Janesville Morning Rotary Club, P.O. Box 645, Janesville, WI.  53547-0645.

The request should offer a brief description of the nonprofit agency, the dollar amount desired and how the funding will be used.

For more information, call Matt Stried; Board Chair (6080 751-6177 or email mstried@jnbsigns.com.

March is normally the time the club continues planning for our next major fundraiser; the Annual Pie Ride.  This years event is scheduled for Saturday June 16, 2012.  This year's co-chair is Ms. Gayle Lunder!  Please see event details.

Also in March the Janesville Morning Club will present four Paul Harris Awards to four outstanding members.  You will want to learn more about these individuals in next month's presidents address!  For now its a secret!

My fellow Rotarians remember to consider making a gift to the Rotary Foundation or devoting time to a rotary program of your choice.  Reflect on what it means "to serve" those who are less fortunate.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Jere Johnson

2012 Janesville Morning Rotary on the Road....
    by Johnson, Jere

The essential standard with which Rotarians measure ethical behavior is the Four Way Test.  This year, District 6250 is making Ethics a key part of our curriculum.  Since January the Janesville Morning Rotary Club is suporting this intiative and emphasizing Rotory's unique ethical component by taking its regular meeting on the road to the classroom.

Beginning in January and again in April of 2012 the Janesville

Morning Rotary scheduled its regularly morning meeting in the classroom!  For one hour Rotarians and students shared experiences and information about club news and student programs learning first hand the opportunity of doing business or classwork with honesty, respect and integrity.

In January and April the club was treated to breakfast(s) and learned first hand about the Craig High School Culinary Arts Program, the  Milton High School "Coffee Club" for coffee and the George Parker High School Culinary & FFA Programs.

Our "road trips"  fostered connectivity between business leaders in the community and young people.

Everyone agreed that the "road trips" should be scheduled annually.

On behalf of the Janesville Morning Club our sincerest appreciation and gratitude to our talented local high schools students, volunteers, teachers and school administration!
