YLI Celebrates 15th Anniversary

Thanks to Alex Petrovic, 2009 Chair of YLI, for a great presentation last week and a job well done on this years program.  Pat Callaway has compiled a complete history of our Youth Leadership Institute as it has grown and developed since its inception in 1993.  Click here for the history of YLI (six pages).  It is well worth reading.

Editor's Note:  Conspicuous by its absence is any mention of Pat himself.  He has been instrumental in the growth and success of this program, having served as YLI chair, co-chair, and other positions on the committee for a number of years.  His many years of contributions to YLI make him eminently qualified to document this chapter of our Rotary history.  Take a moment to thank Pat Calloway for his dedication to Rotary and his "Service Above Self".

CALL  FOR  ROTARY  EXCHANGE  STUDENTS  FOR  2010-2011  SCHOOL  YEAR

The Overland Park Rotary Club is now taking applications from high school students interested in an exchange for the next full school year.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime for many, to truly learn about another culture and to improve or learn a new foreign language. It is available to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who will be between 15 ½ to 18 ½ when they leave, usually in August 2010. This permits students to also participate between their High School and College years. See the attached brochure for more specifics. Children and relatives of Rotarians ARE eligible to apply.

Several members have contacted me regarding problems logging in to the new website. The problem, with one exception, can be traced to a glitch in the new software and there is a simple solution for the user.
