CALL  FOR  ROTARY  EXCHANGE  STUDENTS  FOR  2010-2011  SCHOOL  YEAR

The Overland Park Rotary Club is now taking applications from high school students interested in an exchange for the next full school year.  This is an opportunity of a lifetime for many, to truly learn about another culture and to improve or learn a new foreign language. It is available to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who will be between 15 ½ to 18 ½ when they leave, usually in August 2010. This permits students to also participate between their High School and College years. See the attached brochure for more specifics. Children and relatives of Rotarians ARE eligible to apply.

Attached is the Club Level Application that needs to be submitted by November 16 for interviews and selection by our Club. The students our club selects to sponsor are interviewed and qualified by the District in early December. Each student is placed with a family or families that are selected and monitored by the hosting Rotary Club in the receiving country. Interaction with other Rotary exchange students in that area occurs regularly as well as do activities with Rotarians throughout the year. 

We are looking for a few bright, adventurous young people in Overland Park who want to join some 7,000 other young people to study in a foreign country during the 2010-2011 school year. Please also forward this message to anyone you know with children who might be interested in this opportunity.
