| Looking for an easy way to improve education for
children affected by HIV/AIDS, and/or know anyone who likes discounts
on presents, clothes, shoes, home furnishings, etc.? Please take 30
seconds to read on:
Mathare is one of the largest slums of Africa, filled with children
orphaned through the AIDs epidemics in Nairobi, Kenya. The Dignitas
Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access,
retention, and quality
of education for the 600,000 residents of this informal settlement.
Sponsored
by Macy's "Fashion
& Compassion" Event on October 3-4, The Dignitas Project is
offering valuable Macy's Discount Tickets until the morning of October
4. This is a critical and yet easy opportunity to help bring the basic
human right of education to the children of Mathare.
Why are tickets $10? - 100% of the proceeds go to education programs in Mathare.
- You receive $10 off any purchase over $25 and 20% off all day for the Macy's of the Bay Area.
- Dignitas
gets an additional $3 from Macy's if you enter to win a $1000 shopping
spree. (If you win please proudly share the news).
- Macy's will have big
celebrations in SF and Valley Fair (San Jose) as well as smaller events at
Stanford, Walnut Creek and Pleasanton stores.
Feel
free to buy additional tickets for your friends who enjoy shopping or
need a discount on furnishings, career clothing/shoes, etc. (You
pretty much get back $10 anyway if you go that weekend). Let's turn some simple shopping into education for one of the largest slums in Africa. Please reply to stanfordrotaract@gmail.com to meet at your preferred campus location for tickets. Cash or checks written to "The Dignitas Project" are tax-deductible.
