The first AFL match has already been confirmed & organized & is on Sunday June 28th at the MCG North Melbourne v Western Bulldogs.
The Group 5 Rotary Clubs which are Warrnambool Central, Warrnambool, Warrnambool East, Warrnambool Daybreak , Port Fairy & Portland and Portland Bay have put up the dollars for Millers Bus Lines to transport everyone there & back.
Warrnambool Central Rotarian Robert Coffey has headed the project , and was one of the fellows who got the concept started last year. Robert & others approached MCC CEO Stephen Gough and they generously have donated the tickets , and exclusively to the members area.
The Kerang Rotary Clubs Public Relations Director Tim Collins along with Rotarian Bryan Goble have emailed & contacted outlying Primary Schools Quambatook, Lalbert, Lake Charm, Murrabit & Koondrook. Names of those interested had been placed in a fair selection process.
A second AFL match will be held on Sunday August 16th, and those primary schools within the town will have there chance to participate in this wonderful project.
The Group 5 Rotary Clubs are a very enthusiastic group of Rotarians & are so pleased that children & parents can have the experience of enjoying an AFL match live, and from us all at the Kerang Rotary Club it has been a very rewarding to work with those other Clubs.
As well as that I think we need to thank Toyota Australia for their generosity & support for last year.
