Thanks
to all for making the District Rotary Foundation Seminar an inspirational
success. We had over 200 attendees, many alumni and guests, all who became more aware of
the great things being done with our Rotary Foundation contributions. Our
District Rotary Foundation Chair, Suzi Howe, and all our Foundation Committee
members deserve our heartfelt appreciation for a job well done. All our
presenters were excellent, and Deepa Willingham hit a humanitarian home run for
the hope of leaving the world a better place through our support of the Rotary
Foundation and programs dedicated to world peace through eradicating extreme
poverty. We are making a difference and you are taking the future of Rotary into
your hands. The future belongs to those who give future generations reason to
hope. The future belongs to Rotary. Thank all of you for serving, and it is an
honor for Robin and I to be part of the great District 5890
team.
Yours in Rotary Service - Ed
Dr. Edward A. Charlesworth

The most powerful force in the promotion of international understanding and peace is exposure to different cultures. The world becomes a smaller, friendlier place when we learn that all people — regardless of nationality — desire the same basic things: a safe, comfortable environment that allows for a rich and satisfying life for ourselves and our children. Youth Exchange provides thousands of young people with the opportunity to meet people from other lands and to experience their cultures, thus planting the seeds for a lifetime of international understanding.
