Once again your response to the Haiti earthquake victims has been heroic. Congratulations on a job well done! As your district governor, I am proud of you and your excellent work. As of Jan. 29, we have 50 clubs that have agreed to sponsor a ShelterBox and receive a match from District Designated Funds (DDF) for a second ShelterBox. Each ShelterBox has a tent for 10 people. This will enable us to shelter 1,000 earthquake victims. Clubs may sponsor additional ShelterBoxes and these contributions may be included as part of the district sponsorship (without a match) or sent directly to ShelterBox USA. More...

Applications for team leader and team members for the fall outbound Group Study Exchange (GSE) to South Africa and Lesotho are due in February, reminds Alicia Mentell, district GSE chair. Individual Rotarians can compete for Governor Bill's Challenge by doing things such as wearing your Rotary pin, completing a make-up at another club, inviting a friend to a Rotary meeting, and becoming a Paul Harris Fellow.
