OUR KIDS NEED OUR HELP

            160 Children in our orphanage in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, desperately need our help.  They depend on us to send them food and other necessities in a 40' container each year.  This year we are packing the container on Saturday, November 21^st to sustain these needy children for another year.  We are desperately short of supplies. 

            PLEASE have your Rotary make a donation or an additional donation or consider making a personal donation to feed the children in OUR orphanage; the orphanage that we built in 1985.  We can purchase nearly 200 pounds of pinto beans or almost 350 pounds of rice for only $100.  We still have time to purchase bulk food items and get them into the container.

            When Bernadette Jennings became our District Governor, she stated "It is our children who are the most susceptible to the ravages of poverty and hunger.  It is our children who sustain the deepest wounds from violence, abuse and neglect.  It is our children who are most at the mercy of the adult world.  And it is our children who have the least control over their lives."  Although our economic situation in the United States is not good, we are reaching out to the world's poorest of the poor in the Dominican Republic.
