On October 17th the Rotary Club of Sunshine Coast - Sechelt was presented with a Rotary International award, Best Co-operative Projects Award. This recognition is in honour of the Sechelt Rotary Friendship Park.
The plaque reads," For outstanding achievement in successful co-operation with other organizations to promote humanitarian service." It's signed by DK Lee immediate past-president, Rotary International.
Past district governor Bob Blacker picked up the international award in Birmingham, England at the recent Rotary conference. The award presentation was the highlight of a community barbecue held to thank all the community partners that contributed so much to the park. Without them it would not have been possible.
Pictured here are Judy Blacker, Darcy Long, president of the S.C. Rotary Club, Bob Blacker and Clark Hamilton, S.C. Rotary member who headed the project for the club.
