Lavonne Cox, Past Rotary Club of Houston board member and 2010 Distinguished Citizen Committee Chair, received a Commendation for Outstanding Volunteer Service from Mayor Annise Parker's Volunteer Initiatives Program on April 21st . 
 
Last fall Lavonne was named a 2011 ABC/13 Woman of Distinction.  She has received awards and recognition for her volunteer work with Open Door Mission, Huffington Center on Aging at Baylor College of Medicine, Medical Bridges, the USO, and others.  Congratulations, Lavonne, for the recognition of your wonderful community service efforts.
