|In what may be a first for Rotary Clubs in District 5890, we have a limited opportunity to take advantage in participating in the Houston areas’ single largest day sporting event of the year – the Houston Chevron Marathon, held on January 30, 2011. This event which will be seen by over 1 million television viewers, 200,000 spectators, and attract 55,000 people over a two day period is a Public Relations/Image “must” for Rotary International, and the District 5890 clubs. This event will receive coverage by all media network television stations, newspapers, and the like. Click on Houston Chevron Marathon to see the Rotary YouTube video.
| In collaboration with the Rotary Club of Harrisburg, as the sponsor club
for this event, we are calling on all clubs to be a part of history, by
saying “yes” to placing your club’s name on all Rotary advertising
material throughout this weekend. Website linking opportunities, signage
throughout the race day, including the finish line, 25,000 information
brochures (noting your club information), participation in the race day
activities, are just some of the benefits your club will receive.
Governor Sunny, excited about the potential that this collaboration can
bring to all clubs within the district and with the Public Relations
Committee, has extended his full support and endorsement of this event.
Governor Sunny believes that this will be a great way for all 62 clubs
to unite as a one big Family of Rotary and promote Rotary’s Public Image
and Awareness campaign. DGE Rhonda and DGN Chris are also on board to
make this an Annual Family of Rotary Event. The cost to be a part of
this historical event is only $200 per club and payment is not due until
December 28, 2010. All checks should be made payable to: District 5890
Foundation and forwarded to our district’s treasurer, Jackie Barmore by
December 28th. Visit the Houston Chevron Marathon for more info.
This positive name branding opportunity could be the beginning of
something sensational never experienced before for clubs in District
5890, and a catalyst for future marathon participation. Your club cannot
miss out on this opportunity! All we need NOW is your verbal commitment
to participate and we’ll take care of the rest.
Assistant Governor John Hinojosa at firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-412-6477
with any questions or to register for this event.
See ya’ at the race!
