|Houston Rotarians Honor our Veterans this Memorial Day through their Support of the USO Rotary Club of Houston member Lavonne Cox, announced this week that KPRC Channel Two will operate its second annual Operation USO Phone Bank this Monday. Lavonne, President/Founder of the USO Auxiliary, an all volunteer support organization for the USO, said, "For the first time in our history, more than half our military are married. No other organization does more than the USO to strengthen the vital connection between our troops overseas and our military families. And through Operation Enduring Care serving our Wounded Warriors and many other comprehensive programs, the USO does more for our veterans, our serving military men and women, and their families, than any other 501(C3) veterans organization. We look forward to great Houston support for this Memorial Day event"
|Through the dedication of its volunteers and staff, the USO operates
more than 160 locations worldwide, each providing programs and services
geared to serve the unique needs of the community it supports.
KPRC Local 2 Vice President and General Manager Jerry Martin stated, “KPRC Local 2 is honored to host the 2011 Operation USO Houston phone
bank for the second year. Memorial Day is a time to remember those
who've sacrificed and served our country so bravely. This year we
invite the entire KPRC community to make a pledge to help our troops,
change lives, and give their Memorial Day meaning.” Throughout the day, KPRC will offer regular programming, but will also highlight video testimonials from troops, family members, and supporters.
