Now that our District Rotarians are safely home we are planning the next steps for helping our friends is Haiti. There are many Rotarian first responders volunteering with different NGOs mobilized and active in providing immediate relief. Many clubs have started projects raising money, collecting food and clothing, supporting Rotary's Shelterbox projects, etc.  Our District has a rich tradition of club and member involvement in Haiti with water projects, maternal and child health projects, literacy and education, etc. If your club has a project that you are already supporting, then please continue that support.

Click "more" below for donation information.

If your club would like to utilize our District Disaster Relief Committee resources, then we will be collecting monetary donations that will be used exclusively for Haiti relief and rebuilding. In addition to supporting immediate needs, some members are already working on longer-term projects related to vocational training for prosthetics for amputation victims, PTSD projects to minimize the long-term emotional trauma with the children of Haiti, microlending for vocational opportunities, clean water, etc. In addition to the "hand out" immediately needed, Rotarians are committed to the "hand up" so that out of this tragedy will come a hope for the future.

If you or your club would like to contribute monetarily to our District's organized response then please send your checks made out to Rotary District 5890 Charities – Haiti Relief to:

District Treasurer Jackie Barmore, CPA

3525 Preston Road

Pasadena, TX 77505

Please continue to pray for the people of Haiti, for the first responders and relief
