|AG Chris Schneider Elected DG 2012-13

|On Saturday, Feb 20th, the District 5890 District Governor Nominating Committee interviewed several very qualified, outstanding and committed Rotarians for District Governor 2012-13. The Nominating Committee announced the District Governor Nominee Designate as current AG, Chris Schneider of Memorial / Spring Branch Rotary Club.
|Chris is a 1984 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Chris is a cold war veteran having served in the US Army and Army Reserve from 1982 to 1992. His most memorable assignment was serving as Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commanding General of the US Army Training Center at Fort Dix, NJ. Chris honorably separated from the US Army in 1992 at the rank of Captain. His military awards include, the Army Reserve Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
In 1987, after leaving active duty, Chris joined Chemac, Inc. a high pressure technologies company located in Upper Saddle River, NJ and Alvin, TX with factories located in Germany and Poland. Chemac, Inc. offers engineering technical sales and service for the equipment supplied to the chemical, petrochemical, steel, food and pharmaceutical industries that require high pressure equipment such as pumps, valves and accessories. Additionally Chemac, Inc. specialized in hydro-blasting/cutting equipment from the individual tools to complete systems. Chris is currently the Vice President of Chemac, Inc.
In 1988, Chris was invited to join the Englewood, NJ Rotary club in District 7490. In 1992-93 he served as president, making him one of the youngest presidents in the District at age 30. In 1997, when Chris moved to Houston, he was invited to join the Memorial Spring Branch (Houston) Rotary Club and served as its president in 2001-2002. Chris has served District 5890 as an Area Membership Chair from 2006 to 2008 and as Assistant Governor 2008-2011. Chris was honored as Assistant Governor of the Year 2008-09 by PDG Rhonda Kennedy. Chris' classification is Mechanical Engineering. Chris is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the District Polio Plus Society. Chris currently serves as AG for Alvin, Seabrook and Space Center Rotary
Chris is an endowment life member of the National Rifle Association and was named as a 2003 NRA Patriot of the Year. He is a member of the American Legion, a veteran's organization and his professional organizations include the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Steel Manufacturer's Association and the Waterjet Technology Association.
Chris father, Horst is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and past president of the New York Rotary Club (Club 6). Additionally Chris's Stepmother, Suzi and brother, Andreas are Rotarians and Paul Harris Fellows.
Chris' wife, Lori, is a graduate of Emporia State University, KS, and has been a teacher and coach for more than 20 years, currently at Alvin Jr. High School.
Chris and Lori have been married for 10 years. Together they have one daughter, Hannah, age 8. Both Lori and Hannah are Paul Harris Fellows. Chris has three children from a previous marriage, Christle, 24 currently serving in the United States Navy and twins, Nicholas and Briana 16.
Lori is very supportive of Chris as he chooses to
commit his time and talents to Rotary.
