Rotary International District 6760
Deadline Extended for 2010 GSE to Turkey
Posted on Oct 09 2009
Rotary District 6760 has extended the deadline to Thursday, October 15 to submit applications for its 2010 vocational exchange to Turkey.
Middle and West Tennessee area Rotary is seeking candidates for a vocational exchange team in Turkey for 31 days with arrival in Ankara on May 5, 2010 and departure from Antalya on June 5, 2010.

The Group Study Exchange program is virtually free for the five Tennessee team members.

Rotary will select four team members who are not Rotarians or related to Rotarians and one Rotarian team leader.  Rotary covers travel, housing, food and tour costs.  Applicants, who generally cover certain insurance and any visa fees, must be U.S. citizens, 25-to-40 years old, have worked in their vocation for at least two years, and work or reside in the Nashville region or western Tennessee including all counties west of Macon, Trousdale, Wilson, Cannon, Coffee, Bedford, and Lincoln except Shelby.

On return, the participants must contribute as cultural ambassadors by giving talks to groups interested in the experience.  Current Turkish language ability is not an issue and Rotary plans to fund intensive Turkish language training prior to departure so the Team can meet minimum basic needs.  Some knowledge of Turkey is helpful.

Usually mandatory interviews and an extensive GSE program overview are 9:30 AM to 4 PM, Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN.  Lunch is provided by Rotary.
