What can be more important than protecting vulnerable members of our own local Community. Red Cross is asking Rotary for available volunteers who would like to come in during times of extreme weather and assist in their call centre. Read on for more information including contact details and a short presentation that really puts a human face on this service. |
Rotary's expertise is recognised by the SA Government and we have a unique role in assisting other Participating Agencies in the SA Govt Community Services Functional Plan (under the State Disaster Plan). As part of that role we have again been asked to assist the Red Cross with phone calls to those at risk should we again have another bout of extreme weather this summer.
Based on the outstanding success of last year's experience, Red Cross recently launched their 'Telecross REDiPlan' for the coming summer and Rotary is privileged to have been asked to be involved.
